Free Comic Book Day Adventure Filled with Comics, Records, and Local Finds

Today is Free Comic Book Day and we made the most of it from the very start.

We began the morning at Bookhounds where we spent time browsing records and enjoying the atmosphere. From there we headed over to In Your Wildest Dreams to pick up comics from The Retro Handheld. While we were there, we also enjoyed some Jittery Geeks treats, including a Captain America concha and a selection of delicious drinks. We spent about two hours at the event soaking it all in.

Bookstore Win: Finding the AFTER Series at Bookhounds Used Bookstore

One of my favorite places to visit in my city is BookHounds Used Bookstore. It is the kind of shop where you can easily lose track of time browsing through shelves filled with used books, vinyl records, comics, CDs, and DVDs.

A Weekend of Native Plants, Community, and Sweet Local Treats in Bakersfield

About two weekends ago, there were a bunch of things happening all at once, and it turned out to be such a good time. We had reserved a spot to adopt a native plant, something they were actually giving away for free, and ended up choosing a sticky monkey flower. We already have a big California native garden, so it was a really nice addition.
