For the past five months, I've been learning Spanish, and it's been such an enjoyable journey. I absolutely love it. Along the way, I realized I actually knew more Spanish than I thought, but it's been exciting to build on that foundation and become more confident every day.
I've also started learning a little Czech to connect with my own family roots, and Norwegian because it's part of my husband's family history.
I was born and raised in California, USA. 🇺🇸 I'm American by nationality, but my background is a blend of many different cultures and histories. I know my family has Czech, Irish, and Mexican ancestry, and there are other branches of my family tree that I haven't discovered yet. I have also learned stories of my Native American connections, and discovering more about my family's history has made my heart happy.
I'm so happy and proud that I am mixed and that I don't fit into one box. To me, it's about embracing every part of my story and appreciating the unique blend of cultures and traditions that are part of my background. At the same time, I don't think our background is the only thing that defines us. Our character, the choices we make, the people we love, and the lives we build all play a part in shaping who we are. Together, those things make each of us unique.
I am so proud of my story.
